Diane and Arthur Kearns met while climbing in 1991.  A year later they decided that Winchester, VA and the surrounding area deserved an outdoor specialty store where enthusiast could find top quality clothing and equipment.  "In for a penny in for a pound", in 1993 they were married and a month later opened Mountain Trails in a vacant 7-Eleven building. 15 years later, Mountain trails is still going strong.  In that time it has been our pleasure to meet so many of you we now consider close friends, if not family.  We thank you for your continued loyalty and acknowlege that in today's world, when you have an almost infinite chouce of where to get your gear, it is you the customer that makes the difference
